“Who is Herbert Hoover?”

by on October 27, 2011

Dear Hoover Site,

Thank you for giving my class a tour around the site. I had a STUPENDOUS time learning about Herbert Hoover’s life. At first I was like “Who is Herbert Hoover?” But now know a lot about ‘Bert. It was amazing learning that Herbert had such a small house. I enjoyed walking through the school and the blacksmith’s shop. I wonder if when Herbert’s father went to work did Herbert miss him. So the main reason that I wrote to you is that I want to thank you for the tour.

Dear Park Rangers & Tour Guides,
Thank you for your service, and showing us Hoover’s history. We really liked it, watching the movie showing us his life. I couldn’t believe that he lived in a 2 room house.
Sincerely, Ashtyn, Lilly, and Allyson

Thanks for teaching us about Herbert Hoover! We learned a lot about how he lived as a boy and an adult. We liked his home and schoolhouse. They were both very small! Thanks again!

To Park Rangers and Tour Guides,
Thank you for showing us around the Herbert Hoover house and giving us facts about Hoover. That’s so surprising about that really small house.. Imagine the stove in there and how much room do you think they had? Probably very little. Wooden sidewalks, that’s kind of surprising. What if someone took a metal pipe and smashed the sidewalk, then what would happen? You would go to jail, probably. So would Herbert Hoover fish in that really tiny stream and fish off that tiny bank? Well, I imagine what kind of fish is he going to catch – bluegill, rockbars? I don’t know. He’ll probably catch something. It’s not like he’s going to catch a catfish or a rainbow trout there – probably a chance of catching a rainbow trout.
Sincerely, Carson

Dear Hoover Site Rangers and Volunteers,
Our trip was awsome! We loved the blacksmith shop. It was also cool that his house was so small! On the trip, we learned a lot, like he was a humanitarian, he helped overseas a lot, and he was President during the Great Depression.
Sincerely, Alton and Yajatra
Thank you!
Happy Halloween
