Welcome Back!

by on March 17, 2010

As you can see, we’ve redesigned the RACO 2009 blog a bit.

Now, under the name of Records Express, we will use this blog to discuss all things related to Federal records management and the National Archives and Records Administration.  This includes everything from talking about new ERM policy and guidance to soliciting advice and feedback from you, the wider Federal Records Community (inside and outside the government).  We want to hear about what NARA and the wider records management community needs to do so that–

  • Federal agencies can economically and effectively create and manage records necessary to meet business needs
  • Records are kept long enough to protect rights and assure accountability, and
  • Records of archival value are preserved and made available for future generations.

And of course, we will continue to promote our national RACO conferences, regional electronic records forums, and other records management events around the country.

We are brimming with ideas to write about.  Do you want to know more about our Toolkit for Managing Electronic Records?  Or the latest information about RACO 2010, or Federal records management and the Administration’s Open Government Directive?  Or do you want to hear more about how we set up and launched the Records Control Schedule portal?

Or maybe you are just curious about how we came to rename this blog Records Express?

So, our first question to you:  What would you like to see or read about on our blog?
