President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, announcing, “that all persons held as slaves” within the rebellious areas “are, and henceforward shall be free.”

Can you tell me please on what kind of material the Emancipation Proclamation is written.

The Emancipation Proclamation was written on 2 folios or sheets folded once to create eight pages. The paper is mid-19th c. machine-made paper of short fiber length, so not very strong.
