26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

Joint Resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States extending the right to vote to citizens eighteen years of age or older (ARC ID 1415809); Public Laws, 92nd Congress, 1st Session; General Records of the United States Government; Record Group 11; National Archives.

Passed by Congress March 23, 1971, and ratified July 1, 1971, the 26th amendment granted the right to vote to American citizens aged eighteen or older.
